You're not alone, I know that much! My husband has been my best friend since we met in 1997.... I didn't have the foresight to retain my friendships while developing our relationship and as a result I was unceremoniously dumped. I had a handful of new friends when I went to college but chose to go into work to stay with my then boyfriend instead of risk a long distance relationship and so lost them when they all went on to uni. My social life now consists of nights out with hubby or family members. I have 3 old old friends that I seldom see but that is all. Sometimes I feel so desperately lonely and wish I could just pop it on Facebook for all my facebook "friends" to see but usually, I just think about what I do have with my children and hubby and eventually the feeling passes. We're all so different and that's the magic of life I guess. Just go into every new situation with your eyes open and what will be will be x

People can make of it what they want. Are you happy? If yes - f*** what anyone else thinks. If no - well... that's up to you to change babe.

I have one. She's slipping a little farther away from me lately though, withdrawing. I'd say you're pretty darn lucky to be married to your best friend. We don't need tons of connections- no, Facebook is wrong, life is not a popularity contest. Those with a couple of close friendships fair well in mental and physical well-being, and are generally happier people. If you literally, really don't have any other friends, try making some at a church or book club, if it really bothers you. It's nice to have a few friends there for you. But I'd say you hit gold to be happy in your marriage and with your family, that means a lot.

My husband is also my best friend but I have other friends outside my family just dont really hang out as much except for one an she is a bff only because I have known her since I was 5, I dont think theres anything wrong with not having a bunch of other friends as you get older some times you loose contact or you just have so much going to you dont have alot of time for friends.

Ha! Well I have so many friends! No close friends on the contrary, I might add.
So your situation? I'd say... Any friends of his shall be made friends of yours!

I've had three "Best Friends" .. Two have died way too early in life ...and the other has moved out of state and we more or less lost touch ....
Sad; but true ..I now have no one in my life ; but my dog ....
