Not quite but attempted. My cousin was shot five times in a robbery attempt the summer before he was to attend UCLA. He survived (barely) and was able to go to school (and eventually graduate with honours) a semester later.

My mums cousin and my half brothers mum were both murdered... One was shot the other was raped and stabbed...

My cousin was found with his head splattered against the wall of his house. Him and a friend had JUST gotten back from the war in iraq, so there's suspicion that his friend killed him or suicide....Never really did find out for sure though :/

My Aunt Irene. Not a blood relative, she was married to my mother's brother. Her landlord murdered her. He beat in her head with a ball peen hammer, and then he stabbed her in the ear with a screwdriver and left it sticking out of her ear.

Yes... I'm from Mexico, and my Cousin was riding a bus from her job to her house, we didn't hear from her in a few days, and they later found her body dumped in a canal. The only way we recognized her was by her tattoos, according to the police report she was gang raped, tortured, and mutilated, until they finally beat her to death, and dumped her body in the canal. It was not an easy day for us.
