I feel that I have social anxiety. I will find any excuse not to go to a party! I'd rather stay home than socialise. And I'm so scared that ppl will think I'm stupid!
Argh my lack of confidence really shows and I think it's so bad that my boss called me in and gave me a motivation talk...Not that it helped...After I left, I thought omg, the whole department now think that I am an idiot
Sigh...

If you are going to spend your time worried abouth what other people think.......That is not a life...That is a waste of life...A constent cowering in fear.
And do you really think those that tease and mock...are really any better then you?
No they are not....They have just taken the easy option.
Rather then deal with or find a solution to a problem...they just sit on the side lines and mock and tease people that try to find a better way too deal with a problem.

I have several phobias related to PTSD but the most embarrassing one is fear of needles and other sharp objects. Everyone thinks it's just so funny and they shake their heads when I tell them. I went to a DHS-assigned counselor about it and that useless waste of air actually tittered and muttered something about me being a grown woman, as if I should have grown out of such silliness by my age.
The main effect it's had on my life is my inability to go to college. You can't complete registration without your immunization record. I'm hoping soon I'll be able to attend online classes from our state university, but I'll still be limited in what I can take.
I am terrified of getting older and likely need medical care but I know unless something helps I will stay home and die over being stuck with needles. I've given birth twice without proper medical care because I couldn't find an OB who understood. It was so shaming to show up at an ER in labor, the way they look at you if you admit you had no prenatal care.
There's so many other things I could bring up about this phobia and how it's affected my life. Opportunities I've missed, trips I've never taken, blood I'd have happily donated, teeth I know need repair/removal but I can't go to a dentist. I just compulsively brush and floss and hope for the best.
On the bright side I recently started EMDR for PTSD with my therapist and she thinks it may help with my phobias as well.
