Woop woop! Don't you know it!

Best Answer

No way in hell. They're disfiguring, they have always had a stigma attached to them, people with them will regret ever getting them, unless of course they're happy with being a loser for life. These days, to make them last, industrial inks, which have never been approved for use on the skin, let alone for injecting into the skin, inks which are full of toxins, plastics, mercury, and other carcinogens, and a procedure which can bring with it, AIDS, HIV, Hepatitis, and other infections, not to mention the eventual destruction of the liver and a very real risk of cancer, who on earth, once aware of these risks and affects would ever contemplate such a thing?

Best Answer

Fair enough! To each their own... I'm not really sure how a tattoo brands someone as a 'loser' for life. That is very stereotypical and closed-minded of you. Actually, that research is outdated, the newer, cleaner and yes, longer lasting inks used in a sterile, professional tattooing shop hold none of those risks. I know this because I work in a professional tattoo shop. A tattoo does not cause cancer, that is like saying toothpaste causes cancer. But, I will tell you one thing, tattooed people do not go around calling people who aren't tattooed 'losers' just because they choose not to have tattoos. If a person is creative and wants to use their body as a canvas, what's stopping them? Not people like you!

I have given you my opinion based upon my experience, you do not have to accept it, and equally you do not have to try to counter my views with lies. All you have said is far from the truth, in fact the health authorities are still looking at all the things I mentioned in my post, and tattoos do come with a stigma, one which will always have people with them seen as losers, "that's what a stigma is" As for what people with tattoos do, are you kidding? Our prisons are full of the lowest forms of people in our society, it's where tattoos come, from hence the stigma. Please do some open minded research before posting comments which are so easily discredited.

Prisons?! Actually, Mr 'openNhonest' who is in his 60's.. Today, many celebrities and talented, successful people have tattoos. The first tattoo is believed to have existed from 12,000 BC. Tattoos have been found on mummies all over the world. A tattoo can represent anything - a loved one, a hobby, a pet.
In Russia, about 120 miles north of the Chinese border; mummies were found with tattoos representing animals, as well as griffins and monsters.
Tattooing has been around for more than 10,000 years in Japan - (Older than you!) They actually begun the practice of inserting coloured dyes into the skin.
Mummies were found in Egypt dating from 2160 BC to 1994 BC that had tattoos. The female mummies had abstract, geometric patterns tattooed onto their bodies.
Polynesians use tattoos to define title and rank among their tribes.
Hawaiians believed that tattoos protected their bodies in the next world, as well as keeping them healthy in this world.
The purpose of tattoos ranges from rituals, rites of passage, and ways of distinguishing ranks. Historically, tattoos consisted of symbols that represented religious beliefs, forms of decoration for bravery (much like a medal,) or even protection.
They were also used as a form of punishment to mark convicts and criminals. - They did not originate from prisons, at first they were a PUNISHMENT.
Please, don't come crying to me saying that I am the one who needs to do some 'open minded' research. It is pathetic trying to belittle me saying that I am telling you lies from my OWN experience.
Listen old man, times have changed. That's MY opinion.

Oh dear god, depressed and in a sexless marriage? Isn't there a few things you should sort out first rather than wasting little time you have left voicing your outdated opinion about tattoos?

Been thinking of getting a tattoo but I want to think it through. I don't want to have regrets years down the line. It has to mean something. Any ideas?

Best Answer

In all honesty I couldn't decide for you! That's something you'd have to do for yourself. If you really are stuck and can't decide, find a fantastic tattoo shop with talented tattoo artists and talk to them about drawing up a design, say for example you want a rose, as that symbolises romance for you, tell them that and few other things that are meaningful to you and watch out for the result! I have 7 beautiful tattoos with each their own story or meaning behind it, I never have and will regret any of them. But, be careful when it comes to meaningful tattoos, sometimes what means alot to you now, might not in a few years time!

Best Answer

yea.. I wouldn't go for the rose. I can't get something that people usually have. I do have a design in my head that I like.. just need someone to draw it up so I can show it to a tattoo person. My ex was going to do this until she became my ex, so.. yep.. just waiting for someone you can draw really! In my head it looks creative but it might not look good on paper. We shall see..

Best Answer

Of course not, that was just an example! Haha it's never really a good idea to get your girlfriend/boyfriend to do it! What sort of idea? If you'd like message me and I'll give you some help? :) Best of luck anyway!

Best Answer

well, she did have a artsy way about her and she was well up for it at the time. It's hard to describe what it is I had in mind, but i'm open to changing it completely if it looks like shi*. It would be a design on my back.. lines.. going down, butchanging direction a little.. i can't describe it. I could try drawing and sending it to you. Maybe you can tell me what you think..though i'm not much of an artist.

Best Answer

Aw well if it helps I'm an artist so I'm sure I could help ya out! Yeah go on and try draw it! I look forward to seeing it :)

Best Answer

sure. I'll send you something. Feel free to say it looks like shi* and you think it's a bad idea.
