It IS interesting, I always assume that everyone downgrades American anything (except music, movies). On another note, did you know that our American cheese is called Canadian cheese in Canada? In Windsor, anyway.

In university yeah. Literature in school is a mixed bag of American and British. Personally I'd dump the British stuff.
I just find it dry to be honest. Maybe it's because it's from my own culture so it's boring but I prefer American literature there's more life to it and more variety. There isn't a British Kerouac or Palahuiuk.
