Well considering we were required to study William Shakespeare, I guess we don't all study American literature

In university yeah. Literature in school is a mixed bag of American and British. Personally I'd dump the British stuff.

Really? I had a really good time with certain periods and a number of authors. Unfortunately, some of my favorites, from WWI, seem to have had too strong an influence on British culture from then to the present. Still like them, though.

I just find it dry to be honest. Maybe it's because it's from my own culture so it's boring but I prefer American literature there's more life to it and more variety. There isn't a British Kerouac or Palahuiuk.
