I do not have close ties with my aunts/uncles/cousins. Never had a whole lot in common with them, so not much to say. Don't hate 'em, but can't say I love 'em either.

Same as trixiegirl. I don't have any aversion to my aunts/uncles/cousins/etc, I just don't really know them. Our family wasn't exactly close, so, aside from holidays, I never spent any time with the "relatives"; they are much like strangers to me.

I would have to say most of my relatives....mainly because I have never met them, rarely see them (unless they want something, otherwise they dont give a rat's ***), or know who they are but just dont know them personally. I would have to say though that my list would be narrowed down to my grandparents (my Dad's parents), they were the rudest and most unloving people I had ever known; and one aunt (my Mom's sister)....she was a spoiled "brat", always whining when she didnt get her way and always putting me down to make herself look good or feel better.

I do not love anyone in my family. On top of that, generally speaking I don't love anyone. Clean and empty slate here.

wow that's pretty sad SuSa8.

I come from a huge family. People envied us when we were growing up because we got along with everyone and because we had a huge family. I was close to my uncles, aunts, cousins and I have a lot of them. As soon as everyone starting getting married and sister-in-laws came in the picture and people starting moving away it started to get less and less. Jealous started to play into the picture, gossip and he said she said and things weren't the way they were growing up. Would I say I don't love them NO I'm just sad for them and disappointed.

The answer to your question is yes as we have all grown appart and lead our own independent lives and seldom are in contact.

I don't love anyone in my family. I used to feel sad about it because at one time we were very close, socialized together all the time, played on same sports teams even as adults. But things changed and people started living separate lives and I tried to reconnect a few people about 5 years ago, but it doesn't work. Everyone had changed too much.

I still keep in touch with brother, a sister-in-law and a couple of nieces and nephews, but we're not close enough to be loving. But I also realized the importance of the early years and no one can replace your siblings - that's why my brother and me still communicate. We don't agree on anything, but he was my first best friend.

I don't love my family. The bonds never developed. I feel bad about it, too, but I can't feel more for them than the same general goodwill and compassion I feel for people in general.

Funny thing is, I care about my family, but love. I just don't have love in my heart for anyone right now including family. Is that bad?

I will always care, but just don't love. Think I forgot how to love somewhere along the way.

no, cause if it was life and death all that is in me will automatically be there, but like is a whole nother matter!!! i am the black sheep it seems, black being beautifully unique and all. my family is more worldly than me and they are caught up in the petty issues and problems of the world... materialism, image, no loyalty... i keep a safe distance.

In my biological family, just my younger sister who is manipulative and just plain evil. Doesn't matter though, no one else in out family cares much for her either, and I love and adore the rest of my family members. As far as my in-laws go though, I dispise and regard them as walking slime!

Oh yeah. There is no universal mandate that says you must like, never mind love, your relatives. Sometimes the people we should be closest to are the ones who are the most toxic.
