Do you have trouble accepting compliments?

if so, why do you think that is? do you feel people are being sincere when they compliment you?

It used to be a problem, now I just smile and say thanks. If someone compliments me I figure they're just trying to be nice, but there's no harm in it.

angelwings626	Posted Nov 4th, 2009 at 12:08AM When I am given a compliment that I don't agree with, I will give the one saying it a "wth" look. Then I blush, and stammer-- by the time I say thank you, I'm beating myself up inside for not just saying thank you from the start. I now take a few seconds, compose myself- blush like MAD, and then say thank you. Inside, however, I have a lot of self doubts, and don't always know my true worth. Rated: +2Vote for this!
JoeDeGhetto	Posted Nov 4th, 2009 at 12:57AM A compliment is the same as criticism in the way I deal with it. If its genuine in my own opinion I take it as a gift. If it is out of nowhere I take it for what it is and quickly move past it. A genuine compliment is flattering and joyful. Genuine criticism is sobering and helpful. Asevan	Posted Nov 3rd, 2009 at 11:43PM Sometimes, yes. It can feel awkward, and other times the type of compliment just drives me nuts. For example, I hate it when guys compliment me on my body (but not my style of dress, interestingly enough) -- I know it's not always meant as a shallow thing, but it just makes my gut churn when they do.
