Do you keep personal info of friends and family confidential on request? Or do you tell your spouse everything?
My brother in law who is married to my sister was my best friend in highscool before he met my sister. Now, years later I wanted to come out to him. Before telling him I wanted the opportunity to get his input and advice... But I was ans still am skeptical about telling my sister right away because she is a gossiper. He told me that a.ything that affects them or those they love he will share with her no matter what. In essence... He wont keep it to himself at all. I feel insulted and I lost a lot of respect for him... I understand his romantic guesture for his wife... But really?? It was a slap in the face and it just makes my situation more scary and lonely... Should I even care?

YES, I would keep this confidential. I highly value trust and what others share with me. If you shared something important with him and trusted him with it, he has no right to go and tell anyone about it. I also would feel like it was a slap in the face and I wouldn't trust him again with anything I didn't want others to know.
