Well, sociologists would tell you that criminals are everywhere. A very small proportion of society gets arrested, and a disproportionate number are minorities. Almost everyone has committed a felony, knowingly or not. I accidently carried a corkscrew on an airplane one time -- the kind with a knife built in -- screening didn't catch it and I forgot it was in my bag. That's a felony right there.

Yes, several- People arrested for DUIs, my stepson was arrested for several things among which was embezzling. My ex-boyfriend was a convicted felon( drug charges from his youth) My late husband was a ploiceman so I knew plenty of criminals. Sometimes people just make mistakes and get caught up in situations that they really did'nt mean others make a career out of it like my stepson.

You may want to be more specific. For example, you may ask about felons. Felons are the kind of criminal that are sentenced to jail for over one year. In reality they hardly ever serve their full sentence. Felons are unlikely to get sensitive jobs, but you can find them in many non-sensitive occupations, such a stores, restaurants, etc.<br />
In short, yes. They are people we are likely to work with or interact with.
