Yep, not well, but learned on the pond behind the house. Hated hitting the little ice chunks the cows would knock up.

No. Tried it once or twice as a little kid, couldn't figure out the appeal of falling on my butt on the cold ice.

Yes. And I learned on the longest skating rink in the world. Rideau Canal at Ottawa, Canada.
And Canadian boys are born with hockey skates on. Their poor mothers.

I've done it a few times and I would like to say that it was easy and I was quite good.
I'd like to say that - honesty requires that I admit my arms were doing windmills until I firmly planted my posterior on the frozen ice.
Who would have thought that something that feels to good in the shower could turn on your like that?
