I'm OK with my little circle of acquaintances.

The in-crowd are the 'sheep' of society. The attraction to be in the in-crowd comes from the desire to be well adjusted, functional and appreciated within society, rather than being alone and on the fringes.Like (1)

With my knowledge of the in-crowd, I'm always happy to know I'm not part of it.

I'm an outsider who wishes she were in the in-crowd; but they would have to change before I could 'fit in' with them.
