I love both, but little dogs you can carry around are so ludicrously cute and furry that I melt. I love teacup yorkies especially. I'm a sucker for tiny cute furry friends.

Big dogs make better companions in my opinion. Little dogs are more like your kid than your friend. But I fall in love with the little ones very easily
