Do you remember when the last time your parents grounded you? What was it for?

The last time for me was while in High School. They thought I was smoking because my clothing smelled like cigarrettes. But It was my friends who were smoking, but I still got grounded.

For me it was highschool as well. I was brought home by the police. I had done a myriad of crimes. (Underage drinking, possession, contributing to minors, threatened police, obviously drunk and stole beer from the local tom thumb) *rolls eyes*Really my Mother should've shot me! Lol.

I don't remember being grounded...punishment was usually must swifter - they green leather strap! However I do remember missing out on something where two of my neighbour friends got grounded for most of the summer! I was away at my grandparents for a weekend while the two n'ever-do-wells filled bags with rotten tomatoes and threw them in somebody's pool on the other side of a bush separating our yards from homes on another street. Another neighbour (a very dear family friend) saw the boys and by association thought I must be involved since I hung around with those roughies...

When I got home a couple of days later our neighbour friend came over and immediately gave me the 3rd degree interrogation. I was clueless to what he was talking about, so when he told me about the rotten tomatoes and my grounded friends I think he knew I was innocent by the way I was rolling on the ground with hysterical laughter! One of the two 'bad uns' was an older Mennonite boy that couldn't say "sh_t" if his mouth was full of it...guess he was doing a minor teenie rebellion. One recurring thought for weeks afterwards was "whew, that was close!". :)

Grounding wasn't in my parents vocabulary, always thought it weird my friends would tell me when they got grounded. We just got the belt and it was over.

I finally brought home my boyfriend to meet my parents we were dating for 2.5 years before I introduced him to my parents. I was 17 and he was 24. He attacked me at the dining room table.
The following week they sent me away to boarding school. It was the worst "grounding" ever. I sent 10 months there and went to school even in the summer.
