Do you resent people who get government benefits such as Food Stamps or Medicaid?

Of course not. Stirring up that resentment is just another ploy by the wealthy to free up money that will be handed over to them. Funny how nobody discusses socialism for the rich?
They only call it class warfare when we fight back.Like (4)

The name calling non millionaires aren't aware of one thing: they are one or maybe two paychecks away from filing for benefits. The US has socialism for the rich and free enterprise for everyone else.Like (1)

No, it's nice some of my tax payments go to something worthwhile for our society.

No, I eat regularly and have health insurance. It would be pretty selfish of me to resent others for having those things, too.

There is only one reason I would resent anyone using government benefits.... if they are not trying to live a better life (what I like to call getting out of the system). Sure there are those who need it, but you don't see most of those individuals sitting around doing nothing. As long as the people receiving food stamps and medicaid are diligently looking for a job for independence, I have no problem.

except of course they are not better off than me. And then knowing they are poorer or perhaps not as able why should I resent them for that?Like (1)

I don't because some people really do need it.

No way! There are many people with children (and without) who are struggling day by day to make it through. They depend on these sources for wellness-food and insurance. Some people, especially the elderly, need their oxygen, joint medication and all of the meds that come with older age. And the young children need their meds too, mostly for maintenance and the "injuries" that come up unexpectedly. I thank God for these sources for the individuals who really need them...
