Resolved Question

Do you still consider it cheating if your significant other gave you permission to do it?

I already know what I believe, but I'm wondering what others think.

if your 'significant other' is saying that its ok to see other people, then its highly likely they are already doing this and cheating on you. i would then have a conversation my signifcant other to validate the direction of the relationship to see if this is what you both want. an 'open' relationship is never a good idea. it always brings in hurt feelings and misunderstandings.

if they genuinely are ok with you doing stuff with someone else, than no, because some people really are polyamorous and don't mind.

But I think that's pretty rare if they're not fooling around with someone else too, or just aren't that into you.

If someone you're involved with says oh it's okay to lay up with another person then THAT person is already cheating on you or is looking for an excuse to cheat on you. What could you say if they went outside the relationship AFTER you have. Your best bet is to find out what it's truly about so that you don't end up being played stupid.

No, but you might as well get out there and start looking for a new mate. This one obviously isn't in love with you.

No but it sounds like he might be cheating...or doesn't care about you like he should..

No.
And I agree with arw... I used to tell my ex that I didn't mind if we wanted to get with another girl and he thought it was my being caring and trusting him enough to come back to me... when in reality, I wasn't that in love with him.

I call cheating doing anything you wouldn't do if your significant other was standing there watching you. I don't know if that helps, but everyone's definition of cheating is different.

Some people have open relationships. If he knows you are doing it before hand then no, it's not considered cheating. But i hope you are prepared for that to potentially go both ways. Would u be okay with it?

If you're playing by the rules, then it's not cheating.

If they give permission, then there isn't any cheating.
