Do you tell your friends and family about EP?

I don't tell my friends or family about EP because then I can't be free to be myself. I tell them about it and about the interesting stories, however they don't know it's called EP. Do you guys feel the same way or are you open to them hearing all your feelings and thoughts and responses to other people's questions?

No. This is my sounding board and my place to be free and me. I don't have to censor myself or be afraid I would hurt a family or friends feelings.

I don't bother telling anyone about it. I'd prefer to have some privacy that I don't get at my house. It's easier to vent things online than to friends in case I accidentally said something I wasn't intending them to hear or to talk about things they wouldn't discuss. I'm never really an open person offline and I'd prefer to keep it that way at the moment.

My family have MySpace and FaceBook accounts instead of EP.

No WAY! This is private. Here at EP the point is being anonymous. Nobody knows who you are. If you invite someone to EP, that ruins the point. They see all your posts and comments, and know who you are.

i have explained what it is to my bf and friends because i believe its a very important healing componant, being able to talk/write about things.
i dont however reveal my username because then that would reveal things that i would prefer to keep anonymous.

I told my SIL about EP--told her it's a great place to go meet people--I did not tell her my name--that way I can keep my annonymity.

I recommend EP to some and my siblings are aware I'm doing EP. However I rather have my account hidden from them

I've told some people. They think it's a waste of time, my coming on here. These are some of the same people who love Facebook and MySpace, where you hardly have to be creative at all.

I talk about ep, but I absolutely refuse to tell them what name I write under. Although mum would probably recognize my avatar; it's her cat

I sent the link to a friend but never said I joined or gave SN. I want to use it for me, and be able to share open and honest, and anonymously!

If I thought my husband would remotely be interested in EP I would tell him. However, that would involve taking an interest in ME so EP is my sanctuary

No, my daughter 'invited me' to be a member but I was already a member but did not tell her that. I said I would 'look it up' and said it was a cool site but have never told her or anyone my username. I want to be anonymous so I can totally be myself without any 'secrets' coming out, if there are any.

Yep, I'm with the majority here. I don't mind talking about what I do on the site, but I never reveal my screen name, or even go into detail over the name of EP.
