Couch beds are for occasional use say for when you have a visitor if you do not have another bed they can use. They are not too comfortable.

No, they are really uncomfortable. If you get one get a memory foam mattress topper.

i had one in my first place, a pain cuz you had to open everytime you went to sleep, i used to just sleep on the couch, too lazy to open it up.

No, I've never found one that isn't uncomfortable in some way. If it's not slightly angled down towards the back (as some couches are) and makes you ache after a night's sleep, then there might be a beam that supports you sitting by day, but digs into your spine when you use it as a bed.
