I think homemade gift is more valuable because someone took the time to put it together; that to me, expresses more love than any store bought gift.

Depends what it is. Cost has nothing to do with it, unless the recipient is shallow.
For me a hand made hat will trump any expensive hat because it's unique and made with me in mind.
On the other hand I need a car, I don't care if it cost a grand or fifty - a car is a car. I'd prefer a cheapo car than a handmade hat because I don't really need a hand made hat. I'd appreciate the act of creating something, but - needs and wants.Like (1)

No! I love homeade gifts so much more, because its the thought behind it. They took time for me : )

No. I like expensive things but I would rather have a homemade gift if it is well done and something that I will use. My mother used to give me a box full of knitted socks every year for my birthday. I still have a lot of them and wear them all winter. She died 10 years ago and now I have to take good care of my socks because they mean so much to me.

Personally, like everything homemade, just think more thought and care goes into it most of the time, noticed said most of the time. There is something sweet, knowing you have created something, a wonderful gift, bracelet, whatever. Then again, I enjoy preparing a whole dinner, putting together a mood rather than always going out to eat, just more creative that way
