I guess it depends - obviously both have harmful effects on our body in different ways - i think cannabis is more harmful to our mental health, whereas alcohol is more physical.

With regards to being harmful within the society - i'd say that cannabis is definately less harmful - i mean, how many people do you see in punch-ups outside a club or pub after smoking a joint, compared to those who have consumed alcohol?
At the end of the day, I think when you're stoned it just comes down to 'but can i really be bothered?!' Chances are, unless there's food at the end of it - then it's just too much effort, too much of a mission.
Alcohol is definately more likely to induce violence and other aggressive behaviour, in my opinion.

Yes I do. Pot chills most people out, where alcohol makes a lot of people stupid. (Or more stupid).

I do. Less toxic, less addictive, less violence and less hangovers.

Um, I think the answer is in the question, alcohol is a poison, weed is not. I never woke up puking my guts out, with a wicked head ache the day after smoking weed. Weed has many medicinal qualities too, alcohol has none.

Possibly I haven't heard of any one becoming violent on weed. I don't have any use for either one my self.

I think anything to extreem is bad. I think pot harms the brain in that it kills white blood cells, which don't reproduce, whereas alcohol kills the liver. Alcohol is worse as far as violence, as it can cause aggresivness in otherwise passive people. I drink a bit but I don't overdo it. When pot becomes legal, I will probably smoke once in a while. I prefer the high of pot to the high of alcohol. Plus, like everyone else said, no hangovers or throwing up. Just mellows me out, helps me sleep, makes sex better and movies funnier or more intense. Can't say that about alcohol. At least I can't.

Yes, I do. Alcohol is both psychologically and physically addictive, whereas pot is only psychologically addictive...and even then, addiction to pot is WAY more rare. While pot as 4 times as much tar as cigarettes, people don't usually smoke it as often as cigarettes so they actually get LESS tar overall. And while pot can cause damage to the lungs, heart problems, and minor damage to the brain due to lack of oxygen, alcohol causes heart, liver, kidney, stomach, and brain damage. Plus, alcohol can lead to violent behavior in some people whereas i've never heard of someone going ballistic while on pot.

Both are less harmful than people who consider either one harmful.

In other words, there's the bullet, and there's the gun. People who would abuse either one constitute the gun.

Otherwise, both are fantastic vehicles for chemicals which can alter the brain in producing relaxation, euphoria, and in the case of weed, somatic bliss.

cannabis is the better choice...it's natural and has many medical uses...like easing the pain and nausea from chemo treatments...and suppling more blood to the eyes of glaucoma patients......don't know of any benefits for alcohol

On a scale of 1 to purple, I vote for deep purple. I do think it's probably less harmful but I don't know from experience.
