If course. Some of those people who have a fault in one area just might have a resistance to a future pandemic in another area. Use genetics to eliminate them then you open the door to the possibility that when the next airborne Ebola or some other plague strikes and you have everyone on earth now formed into the "humans imagination of perfection" but they are all painfully vulnerable to the new disease because genetic variation has been done away with. Then you will have an extinction level event on your hands. Variety is the spice of life. Once everyone is conformed into some Nazi type vision of the perfect man then the disease that will kill the supposed "perfect man" will kill your entire race. You just look at some of what has and is now happening in agriculture with the extinction of once favored banana and corn varieties because they bread a single type and depended upon that one type (that they designated the best) And that type became extinct because it was vulnerable to a certain blight or pest.. Lucky for these crops some "non-preferred, inferior" varieties where still being grown in remote "backward" parts of the world. And it was from these "inferior" stock that the solution to the problems where found. When Humans play God it can end up a total disaster, but the pride and hubris of men will probably lead them to disaster anyway.
