Good question. Absolutley not. If religious, suicide is a big no-no for biblical reasons, if non-religious suicide means leaving everybody behind and therefore selfish. In either case death is inevitable so is a non-issue.

Depends on how big your picture is. If you mean that of Earth, yeah - we are a big deal. If you mean that of the Universe - no. Aside from launching some space junk into our solar system we have no impact.

each individual life is a microcosm, their own universe, and is significant in the grand tapistry of existance. We may seem insignificant, but we are not...not to ourselves and not to those we love....but even in the universal sense we are still making waves that can turn tides and shift reality into something different than it was without us. My belief is that nothing is insignificant and everything makes a difference. Everything is interconnected.

A human life is insignificant in the scheme of things, but if that life iis your life it asssumes huge importance

Humanity has reached the top of the evolutionary tree, but is doing some bad things along the way. There is still time to mend our ways, but at the moment - with bitter disputes betweem countries, failure to agree on controls on clearing trees, poluting water, polution destroying the ozone layer, devastating the planatary resources etc etc - there is no sign that any agreement will be reached in time.

Humanity is important to humanity, but an important agency for destruction for other species an the planet in general.

Could humans mend their ways and use their inquistive nature to do the whole startrek thing and go out there - spread humanity with good values across the galaxy and beyond. We probably could - if we would stop spening time and nmoney invading countires, fighting each other, developing ever more powerful weapons etc

yes because we can choose to act from love and treat everything with respect in equality....I choose equality...standing in the physical and daring to really be here in love and equality with all of life

We are not that important in the big scheme of things, but we are by the far the most destructive.

In regard to the living planet? Looking outside the box, then if humanking disappeared this instant, it wouldn't stop the rest of our natural planet from thriving and surviving. The natural order may swing in the balance, but sooner or later the balance would reset. In the main, what humankind does to our planet is to take, take, take and take some more. I don't see how human life is important if it simply disappeared and, therefore, stopped taking
