It's a love story between two men. It's not gay p0rn. If you cannot watch a movie about two men who fall in love, then that says alot about your level of tolerance towards homosexuals.

Keep one thing in mind: being gay is not a lifestyle choice. You cannot change who you are. Fear and hatred of other races makes you a racist. Fear and hatred of homosexuals makes you a homophobe.

My husband finally watched it with me a year after it came out. He lived through it, but grumbled a good deal about it.

It's a hugely important film in understanding homosexuality if you are heterosexual. Although my problem was that I kept falling asleep in the middle of it -- the quiet sheep herder life got to me, I guess. No -- I agree with many of the others here -- nothing graphic and it had excellent performances. Oh, but you do have to look at Anne Hathoway's boobs for a second, if you object to that.

Yes you will survive, but it will break your heart a little. Just be sure to watch it with the mindset that they are two people not two men. Be sure to have tissue handy.

you're mom thinks you might be gay, and if you're so worried, you have doubts yourself. just read a magazine while watching, you may want something to cover your lap.

Yeah, I think you'll live. Just because it's about 2 men doesn't mean it will scar you for life! LOL! It's just a different form of love. Even if you don't like the movie, it's only a couple of hours long. Maybe your mom just wants to spend some time with you??

of course you will live through it. It's not a bad movie. I didn't want to watch it at first, but after a while, you don't see two men in love, you see two people in love. There are a lot of sad moments and its really dramatic, but I have all the faith in the world that you will indeed survive this movie.

I love that movie. There is no explicit sex just one hot kiss between two gorgeous men. If anything it may be boring for guys to watch because it's a sad love story.
My husband watched and he is man enough to recognize it deserved an oscar nomination.

actually its not nearly as controversial as people made it out to be, in my opinion. its basically a love story of two men who met at brokeback mountain for work. they basically felt like they couldn't be "out" in their relationship so they still married & had their respective families. if homosexuality bothers you then maybe you will be uncomfortable.

will you "live" through it???? i'm sure you'll survive. i think that the intensity of some of the scenes was a little "unnecessary" for my taste-- but that could just be b/c my DAD watched it with me. i think the characters were arseholes for cheating on their wives so i wasn't too into it. but it's a realistic story that could totally happen and it's a little depressing.
