Repenting alone isn't enough. He has to truly feel deep remorse for his sins, otherwise he's just being deceitful.

What matters is not what I think, but what the man in repentance thinks.

Absolutely! I always thought it was one of Christianity's funniest little games. I naturally have to feel a little sorry for anyone who has trashed their lives denying their instincts and living with fear and guilt - why not at least allow them to grovel a little before The End? It's kind of like knowing that you've screwed over your credit card so you just go crazy and spend the sh1t out of it, then go: "Bankruptcy, fu(kers!"

Please don't get them to take it back, I've always loved that repenting sh1t, lol..

What I think doesn't matter. It's between the sinner and God.

I think the whole constructed concept of sin is bronze age scare stories for adults ... why would god even care, he's beyond mortal concerns.

No....repent alone is not enough nor is being a good person enough. God says that we must accept Christ as our savior and repent of our sins in order to go to heaven. God gave to the world His only Son to bare all human sins upon the cross, therefore it is only through Christ that we can be saved and allowed into heaven. These are God's words....not my human words.

yes, if he meant it and he was sincere, and regret doing them.

there is a story though

there was a man who killed 99 people He then asked to be guided to the most prolific worshipper from the inhabitants of the earth, and he was directed to a monk. He went to him and told him that he had killed 99 people, and he asked whether it was possible for him to repent. The monk said, ‘No.’ The man killed him, thus making him the 100th victim. He then asked to be directed to the most knowledgeable of the Earth’s inhabitants, and he was guided to a scholar. He went to him and told him that he had killed 100 people, and he asked whether it was possible for him to repent. The scholar said, ‘Yes, and who will stand between you and repentance. Go to such and such land, for in it dwell a people who worship Allah, so go and worship Allah with them. And do not return to your land, for it is indeed a land of evil.’ He left, and when he reached the halfway point of his journey, he died. The angels of Mercy and the angels of Punishment disputed with one another [in regard to his case]. The angels of Mercy said, ‘He came to us repentant, advancing with his heart towards Allah.’ The angels of Punishment said, ‘Indeed, he never performed any good deeds.’ Then an angel came in the form of a human being, and both groups of angels asked him to be the judge between them. He said, ‘Measure the distance between the two lands. Whichever land he is closer to is the land that he is closer to [in terms of being of its people]. They then measured the distance and found that he was closer to the land that he was heading towards, and so it was the angels of Mercy who then took his soul

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23)

if repentance is all you require I think you will go there - but I do not think repentance, mere word are enough.

redemption, action, is required.

the meaning of the word repent means to turn away from,if a person is really sorry they do their best to never do it again.sorry isent just something you say to get off the hook if you are truely repentive there is sorrow and a deep remorse for the action or offence,,and actions always speak louder than words.

hi :}
first off i dont think their is a literally heaven or hell ,when we do something evil we our in error of our own potential ,our own soul .'so while we may eventually see the error of our ways and be truly sorry as we all make errors big and small ,we will in some way have to attone for them either in this lifetime or in another [yes i believe in reincarnation ].
we will be held responsible for everything we do ,if one would live like they KNEW whatever deed they did would come back to haunt them ,then perhaps people would at the least take a step back and look at what they do to others .
so personally i do think their is redemption and forgiveness and grace ,but i think it comes to us through our own souls and we will in some way within the soul have to fix the wrongs we have done and possibly come back to this heavy place [earth]to learn more lessons and to work out some of the deeds good and bad that we have done throughout many lifetimes .
personal responsibility ,everything you do to others will come back to you so perhaps if people tried this philosphy they might realise that simply saying your a christian[i do believe Jesus was a master teacher ] or you believe is not going to save you from everything you do .hold yourself accountable and do the best you can and you will have nothing to fear .by allowing your belief that you can sin yet IF you beleive you will be saved i think this in itself can breed irresponsibility and evil acts .
just my oponion :}
best to you

No !

Sins committed against God can be forgiven by Him if He wants.

But sins committed against people can only be forgiven by them. And if they choose not to...

So when one's paid what he owes sure he can go to heaven.
