No they should go back to their original countries and get in line, wait their turn like millions of others have.
no i dont because that would be crazy mess....we would be over crowded and get ourselves into more trouble in the economy. However, the problem is not the people. corporations in this country advertise for mexicans to come here and get undocumented work. The corporations can pay less than minimum wage, they dont need insurance, and they dont need to worry about lawsuits or unions or workers rights. When the public makes an outcry and the immigration department demands the appearance of results the corporations pick out a handful of workers that are no longer needed, they give the names to the authorities and workers are raided and sent back across the border. This doesnt solve the problem, its an endless cycle and it is cruel to those who come here from an impoverished country looking for work...work which was purposefully advertised in mexican newspapers written in spanish. we need to be cracking down on big business and the corrupted systems that allow this to continue. If the work was not available to them then they wouldnt be here, would they?
lol, thank you^^
lol...im not in the market for a bf^^ but im flattered
thank you..me too
If they have jobs and are productive citizens, I don't see why not. I think we should get rid of the felons instead
the american indians were wise to grant amnesty and legal status to the invading european cultures, and we should be thankful
the mexicans were here before the indians?? they came over the bering straight and spread out onto the north american continent first?? (rewriting the history to fit your notions)
Giving amnesty to ILLEGAL immigrants is a slap in the face to all the honest law abiding people who want to immigrate LEGALLY. Illegals when discovered should be implanted with an RFID and sent back to the country that they came from.
By breaking our laws and cutting in line ahead of honest hardworking people who have complied with our laws and applied for a immigrant visa through the proper channels, Illegals have forfeited any rights they would have had , if they had chosen to take the legal rout. And immigrants aside are you aware that there is a proposal to implant RFID's in every citizen, like some people do with their pets now.
Seal the borders and give amnesty to those illegals that have been here working and paying taxes. For God's sake, Don't split up families, Have a logical program for migrant farm workers. We're certainly not going to get dirt under our lily white finger nails, are we? Institute military service as a pathway to citizenship, An option...
We would have to use prisoners to get enough people to pick cucumbers, lettuce, or chop cotton.
yeah. the "Lilly white fingernails" comment was a bit much. I could have said that a little more tactfully.
I am a white natural borne US citizen and picking cucumbers and beans one year kept me from starving while I looked for a better job. That whole white people won't do that is a lot of crap. The reason it is hard to get them to do it is because when they do work you tax half of it away from them and give it to the layabouts.
I 'do' apologize for the "Lily white fingernails" comment. I usually don't talk that way. I may have been in my cups when I wrote that answer,
@tawam- All good points. We already have prisoners working on our highways and such. Yes It's a risk.
I think we should have laws in place, and in force the laws. Let them go to the back of the line and do as they are suppose to do in the first place. Let the unemployed apply for the jobs the illegals have, if there are openings left, then have a guest worker program. Not all the jobs are in the fields, in my state they are taking good jobs with great benifits. We have a high number of illegals, the companies need to be fined, if they don't comply, take their liscences away. When we start to in force our laws, people will follow them. This goes for all people.
Yes I do. Because for decades the US practically escorted them in because we wanted low wage workers for farms and food processing plants. When a law has been ignored for decades then those who entered under that condition should be allowed to stay. Besides, I think they add a lot to our rather bland culture.
Depends on their situation.
Obviously refugees and people seeking amnesty from persecution deserve different consideration. And if the laws concerning immigration are unjust then fighting them is an ethical obligation.
There are ways for people facing political prosecution to apply legally for a temporary visa while they work their way through the system, that is a entirely different question than granting legal status to any criminal (illegal) that sneaks across the border.
Illegal is just that - illegal. They should not be put at the front of the line for immigration, thereby penalizing would-be immigrants who have some respect for the law.
They are ILLEGAL immigrants. They may be otherwise law-abiding people, but there are other people waiting in line for proper immigration status, who are not breaking any laws. Why should those people be pushed to the back of the line when people who BREAK THE LAW to enter the country, and break laws in getting jobs get "legal status" before those who obey the law?
