If you are sexually active, then yes, it is the most responsible thing to do. Just discuss the side effects, if any, that there may be, with your doctor or clinic, and how they may affect you if you are still growing. Just be informed. It is not only okay, but also wise. There is a possibility of you gaining weight, but if you notice that, tell your doctor and they'll switch you to another type of pill. I tried 3 until I found the one that suits me.
