Personally I do not believe monogamy is natural for our species, and the fact that so many people- well over 60% of couples have affairs is proof enough. That said, I do not like lying, and if you are fool enough to stand up in front of your wife/husband, friends, family, the state and god (if you believe in such a creature) and promise that you will take this person in sickness and health, through good times and bad etc. etc. till death do you part, then no. If like me, you never got married, then yes, sure, why not? As long as men grant their partners the same freedom.

Ok, for all those who say "no way" what if you are in a sexless marriage? Should one or the other suffer simply because you made these silly vows and are stuck in an unhappy marriage?

Ah yes, self control...but considering so few of us practice this, how can you expect everyone to follow?

    Nope, it's not okay.
If one has made a promise of faithfulness to his wife...then, really....do you have to ask?

That's wrong in so many ways.
If you don't want to remain monogamous then don't get married.
If you can't keep it in your pants don't get married.
If you know you may do that after marriage and you still get married then shame on you because it trashes lives.
We should all be honest with ourselves and if were not the type to be monogamous don't bother trying to make that promise.

There is something else to if your not protected properly you could bring something home to your partner. It happens all the time. You may be willing to risk aids or something but its not fair to put your partner at risk while they think your being faithful.

No. I know someone who does. He is well off, so he can afford it, but he gets more and more seedy-looking everyday. She, on the other hand, as a young woman, had the reputation of being a hot little number, but now she just looks like the dragged out whoore she apparently always was. They are two fo the saddest people I have ever known.
