Do you think it's wrong to like/ be attracted to someone based solely on their race?

I think you should have asked 'Is it wrong to NOT be attracted to someone based solely on their race'.. I try to see everyone as individuals, but I do have personal preferences about what I find aesthetically pleasing.. Is that wrong?

I don't know that I would say it's wrong, but rather a little short-sighted.

I think it's kind of weird. Like they're fetishizing someone's race or something, without actually looking at them as a person. It sounds like a form of (less negative) racism.

I find it rather shallow and stereotypical....but it really is a person's choice. Sadly, media influences everything from what the definition of attractiveness is to stereotyping a certain race's behaviour to be a certain way. I must admit, there are times when i wonder if a person is attracted to WHO i am or WHAT they perceive me to be. I hope people will take heed from the old En Vogue song, "FREE YOUR MIND"...because even for me, a good looking man is a good looking man....no matter what race he is!!!!

Everybody is attracted to different qualities in people. I wouldn't judge why someone is attracted to someone else. It's their choice. If someone is HATING on someone due to their race, then I think that is a sign of ignorance and stupidity.

Overall i would think personality should matter more however i will confess that i find darker men more attractive from a first glance, but i suppose when you get to know someone a bit more attraction can develop, id think that it were wrong to not give anyone a chance because of their race.

It's not wrong. You're free to like who you want. I know a lot of people that consider race as an aspect when searching for a partner. However, if you're automatically attracted to somebody because of their race then you.. have really low standards.

Yeah, I've heard it plenty. I don't think it's wrong though. I think it's how you were raised and brought up--who the majority race was growing up.

"Race" there is only one of..human. Ethnic group or Nationality there are several of.

I think a lot of it has to do with how a person was raised. I personally don't mind the race. Each person has their ups and downs. However, I know it would cause me a lot of stress because of family memebers who consider dating outside of race is wrong. I believe each human is equal despite the color. We all think alike and share a few common values. But I also see where a relationship with someone is going to be personal strife to more than one person and including myself...I would try my best to not like someone from a different race. There are so many different reasons o stay with your race, and many of those reason are how you will be treated and if you can handle that stress. I believe that in this situation you have to think of how your family will respond and if they will still accept you. I know it's the 21st centry and many people should be over discussions like this but they are not. Someone once said that they wouldn't do it because "mixed" (sorry if that's an incorrect term) children face a lot of critism. which makes sense to me.

i already have a man but if i didnt:

im mostly only attracted to white guys with tattoos & piercings... that doesnt mean i wouldnt date anyone else but i wouldnt be immediately attracted by them & it would be more of a gradual thing (like once i got to know them better & they had an attractive personality... which is what happened with my man even though he's a white guy with lots of tattoos i wasnt immediately attracted to him either)

Lots of people choose to date a certain race. Whether or not it is wrong, it is certainly very common.
