Neither. He taught forgiveness.
He wanted them to kill him. "All part of God's plan" so they are 100% innocent, you cant go against His plans.
Jesus wouldn't have. That's one reason I always wonder how true Christians can ever support the death penalty.

but I mean someone had to kill Jesus... it was his destiny... some of his last words were along the lines of "forgive them Father"
He even knew he would be betrayed and who would do it... it was his purpose to be put to death.
