    i think that one only should look at the scores, and never listen to any music...as it corrupts the soul.

    Musicology it's the best therapy for me. I had this subject only 2 years but I will never forget about it. It's amazing if you have an opportunity to know all aspects of music .

    some aspects are boring - in my case acoustic (very complicated and without artistic energy)

    I find musicology fascinating. That's why I spent five long years in graduate school working towards a PhD in it.

    Humanities classes aren't a waste of time but it's good to take them along with more practical classes. But I'd never take musicology just because analyzing things too much takes out alot of the fun for me.

    Yes, all most impossible. Especially with competition from conservatory and more theoretical minded humanities.
