Religious schools screw a child up big time. I don't know about boys or girls schools.

No because hopefully they would get a better education without the distraction of the opposite sex and develop more friendships. :)

Attending in gender specific school overcomes some problems and creates others. It is more likely the background and the reasons that parents would choose a gender specific school in the first place that have more to do with how "screwed up" someone is likely to be.

As a previous poster commented, "it is not what happens to you, but how you respond to what happens, that determines who you are as a person." Make better choices! Choose the life you want to experience. Read and implement "The Four Agreements."

i went to all girls school for high school. cant say it did me any harm, we still got up to no good. i choose to send my kids to co-ed though as i want them together at the same school and i can see the social benefit of it. my kids have both girl and boy friends and i think its good for them. i do however see the difference between private and public and wish i had never decided to take my kids out of private. state schools expose kids to it all, scary really

State schools also give a kid an education in life, whereas some schools (like catholic schools) wrap kids in cotton wool. (in my humble opinion)

i attended a public school & i'm screwed up...lol..just depends on the person i think. this may be lame but i heard this quote & i think this answers the question perfectly. "We are not who we are because of whats been done to us...we're who we are because of how we chose 2 respond 2 whats been done 2 us."

I know a few and they turned out fine.

Doesn't mean I support this kind of segregation. Boys and girls do have different development curves so they statistically have a harder time at certain stages in school, but I believe there are better ways to deal with this than divvying them up into different schools.

I went to an all girls boarding school from the age of 10-17 and I am not screwed up.
I have a very good career in London and generally enjoy myself.

A lot of people I went to uni with went to private boys'/girls' schools and they were a little...different. Not screwed up at all, but you could sort of notice they'd developed their social skills in a slightly isolated environment.

No big differences, just little ones in styles of humour or confidence with the opposite gender. My high school group was 6 males and 7 females and we were comfortable talking about "girl issues" and "boy issues", whereas some of my male friends in college still laughed at the word tampon.
