As I'm sure you mean emotional pain and not physical, I say yes. I have been diagnosed in the past with, among others (due to the situation at the time) chronic major depression. I'm proud to say that I have climbed out, but it took years. While I was in it, my emotional capacity for pain seemed limitless. It seemed unique to me. Sometimes I was proud of it. But I think it comes with the territory. I think, when in the clutches of mental illness, it is easier to see and feel only the pain and darkness, and as such, you absolutely feel it to such a degree that people who are not "sick" do not. I consider myself a functioning bipolar--I get depressed easily but I exercise and I take great care to do what I need to so I don't sink too far to get back out--and at this stage in my life I don't let pain take me over like I did 5 or 10 years ago.
I hope that helps.

Considering that mental illnesses are the by-product of emotional responses or heredity I would go with "yes".

Yes only when something occurs repeatingly like rejections from people. You would feel intense
pains that messes you up to do something
to get rid of it like cutting yourself or being rude
to people etc.

A doctor told me once that mentally ill people cannot handle physical pain very well. Depression runs in my family. I have it, and I must admit a headache will almost drive me over the edge. This is kind of hard to answer because I cannot enter another"s body and feel his pain.

I don't think so. Mental illness is about chemical imbalance in the brain. But they may suffer more from choices made during imbalance. Also there is shame and guilt over poor behavior. But feeling more pain. No.

I have 2 illnesses but they have little relevance to physical pain. It depends on the illness.
