In some cases, unfortunately, yes.
The Taliban in Afghanistan and NW Pakistan are great example of a people whose culture is leading them backwards to a dark age of brutality that makes the Dark Ages look very enlightened. There was a recent case where a father killed his own daughter with acid because she spoke to a boy. In another case, the village elders gang raped a girl because her BROTHER (NOT even the girl, but her brother) was seen holding hands with a girl in the public square. They also do not allow any girls to learn to read, they deliberately destroyed one of the few surviving ancient wonders of the world, they imprison and beat any man who chooses to shave, and they tortured zoo animals for amusement when they first took over in Kabul.
Honestly, people like that are less noble of spirit than most of the animal world. They are evolving in reverse.
There are animal species that consume their young, but at least it's instinctual, not a conscious decision. The fact that humans, who can reason, also destroy community members, is pretty horrific.
I agree. I realize it's ingrained in their culture, but these days there's less excuse, because most cultures get exposed to new and different ideas. A hundred years ago, you had a headhunters in remote jungles who perhaps really did not know any better, but i think even remote tribes today realize that 99% of the world considers ritual murder like that to be wrong.
I think humans are becoming meaner and dumber! People are not as friendly as they used to be everyone is looking out for number one!
No, and frankly I find the very concept terrifying. Dehumanizing groups of people has usually been the first step in trying to make a case for eugenics or outright genocide.
