Do you think that everyone is born with a conscience?

yes. I believe if we (unethically lol) observe 3 kids on a remote island and watch them develop without societal interferences, we will see that they too have a conscience.

I don't think so...I personally knew of two babies..One baby was extremely quiet..Never cried. Never really showed any emotion at all..As she got older, she stayed the same, and she could do anything she wanted and didn't feel bad. The other little baby never shut up! He cried and cried day and night, and as he got older he was a very emotionalchild, and felt bad every time he did anything wrong..I think that the whole consience/lack of conscience thing is more of a chemical imbalance making some people have emotions and feelings, and others don't.

If you look at human beings strictly in the stoic manner, it's all about how they were raised and what mores they were instilled with as a child!

when i was working in a psyche hospital, i saw several children without a conscience. but i don't know if they were born that way. it's very disturbing to work with those kids.

but everybody is born with a consciousness - i mean it is the (high or low) consciousness that makes everybody what they are

No. But I don't think it is all about how you were raised, either. Everyone is wired differently and sets their own morals. That's how people escape bad family situations, or create them.

No..we have to learn it. Humans are instinctual just like the rest of the animal kingdom..the only thing that separates us is the ability to learn to be civil.

I believe so. I can't really explain why, but this is a really thought-provoking question. I guess it's tied into the whole "Nature vs. Nurture" debate.

Psychopaths are wired differently, than the people with a conscience. It has been discovered that most politicians are psychopaths, the same as murderers. No regret for sending people off to war, lying or misconduct.

What is your definition of " conscience" ? This seems like a moral question and who dictates what morals compose a conscience ? IMO there are only chemicals in the brain that dictate our tendancies and those are tempered with our life experiences. It's all in how the genes combine.
