Most of the time yes. Saying nothing and keeping our opinions to ourself helps. Depends on the situation, loved one or not.

I believe that honesty is the best policy in most circumstances, unless you can get by with omission on less important things. With loved ones honesty is definately the best policy at all times, but be careful how you put it because often times the truth hurts, I hurt people because I just spit out the truth and they don't like it. I think being lied to now to save some hurt is bull because people usually find out the truth later, then it's not just the truth they have to deal with, it's your lie as well, it doubles the hurt and strife.
