    I met a young man from Pakistan who commented that most Westerners cannot comprehend what it is like to live in a part of the world where borders are drawn based upon religion. Ghandi taught that without a National Spirit, there can be no Nation. The root causes of Nationalism are obvious, including religion, common defense, way of life, culture, laws, economic system, form of government, etc. Humans have always been tribal and very social creatures. But immigration certainly blurs the issues, and then there are places like Derby Line, Vermont where the kitchen is one country but the bedroom in another.
