I think that drug use has become a social connector, like people who get together to drink or eat or whatever. It's part of the "party" scene, and it has become part of the celebrity image as well. I think it's like anything else that people do because it seems to be linked to risky behavior and cutting loose. People do it because they want to fit in with a certain crowd, and they do it to seem cool. That's the social aspect anyway. There are all those other reasons why people use drugs when they are alone.
