Yes. If we're not careful, they might crash another rocket into the sea!
Seriously. One problem with North Korea is, it's just a little too close to China for the US to use nuclear weapons to retaliate should NK do the unthinkable. Blood is thicker than water. However, this also works in our favor since China would also be pretty pissed if NK nuked the south. I personally think NK is a paper tiger, albeit a very scary one.
watchful, concerned and cautious, but affraid no...fear breeds irrational behavior...we need to be ready to respond, not react.
Yes, the world should be afraid of the risk that North Korea poses to South Korea and of the harm that the dictatorship does to its own population.
North Korea certainly needs to be watched. The leader is unpredictible and there is a lot of unknowns about him. A crude nuclear weapon which could reach the United States could cause a lot of death and injuries. You don't have to have top of the line nuclear weapons to cause death, destruction or injuries.
That country has very few resources to carry out a protracted war. If they can't get what they want with threats, they could try rockets, but their rockets and warheads don't work as often as they do work. Beyond that is a large army, yes, but limited food and fuel.
So, only to a limited degree do the other countries of the world need to be worried about North Korea.
Our leaders need to be cautious and have the CIA in place.
Only if the Soviets come into the picture otherwise the Japanese have our back.
