The Pentagram has been used by MANY religions over the centuries. The Christians to represent the 5 points of the cross and the 5 wounds of Jesus , the Buddhists to represent the 5 elements The Jews to represent also the star of David , the pagans and the Wiccans to represent the elements and protection.
Each religion has at one time used the symbolism of the 5 pointed start. The one thing they ALL have in common is that NOT A SINGLE one of them included any negative meaning in that symbolism. ,
It has ONLY been those who do not use that symbolism at that time who place negative meaning upon it regardless of what meaning those who are using that symbolism understand it to be.
I think that signs and symbols can mark or represent evil things, but I don't believe that marks or signs are evil in themselves. It is the meaning that is attributed to the pentagram that is significant to people, not the pentagram itself.
I believe in God. And I am trying to figure out exactly what I should believe about Him. I also believe in Christ. I suppose you would call me a Christian, though people seem to have different ideas about exactly what that means.
DITTO! (i fully agree)
No, I think it is silly. I don't have a religion.
Non denonimational: Christian
I think that religions were made to seperate us.
A "five pionted star" Pythagorean's symbol used to wish "good health".
Sumeria used the "five point star" for the symbol "Venus".
These days Windchimes. Jackie Chan uses them in his movies, some wear them to scare off Christians.
As for the arts community the ideas are endless.
No...it was a symbol used by the ancient Greeks and recently by Wiccans, not intrinsically evil. I was once Catholic; now I consider myself spiritual but not affiliated with any organised religion.
...I wonder what the religion of the asker is?
It is what you make it out to be. Like Halloween. To me, it is a festival of free candy. Agnostic, mostly because I don't think I know enough about religion
No, I think its pretty. i am non-religious (by choice).
It's been used in many different ways, but usually it's been used to ward off evil. It's been used a lot in the heavy metal music scene and so it is often viewed as "evil" but it really isn't.
I don't have a religion.
no symbols are symbols they bare no meaning its the pple that use them
Now wait are you refering to the regular facing 5 point star with a circle, which is called a pentacle, or the upside down facing one, which is called a pentacle?
one's a pentacle, one's a pentagram. you might wanna edit that.
