I dont have a problem with a 45-50 hour work week as long as I can have 2 days off in a row (weekend prefered). I have worked every shift imaginable and some that may not be. I know one thing about work and labor hours abroad, I know that work schedules are more flexible to conform to peoples lifestyle and variables from within the household. We could probably take a few lessons here in the US from that.

40 is normal in Holland, you probably won't get paid for more. However, I work +40: turn up 1/2 hour early, only take a 15 minute or no lunch break and leave 1/2 to 1 hour too late.
