Depends on what type of cancer. A study in Switzerland about 8 years ago, found that some families are genetically predisposed for certain types of cancer. While other cancers are caused by an external source with no family history of any cancer.

Cancer isn't genetic. It's mutated cells...It can happen to anyone sometimes it happens early or late in life. It doesn't just run in families.

well yes, they have the pre-disposition to it, but it's also very possible they will never have cancer at all.
