I think that any combatant in a war zone must become a bit inured and callous to their actions..easier for the grunt facing live bullets, but even the Stealth fighter pilot or Apache pilot can be shot down..later of course you get the PTSD reports.endemic to veterans(St Francis of Assisi?)
With the "drone pilot you have one step removed and the question implies do they think of their work more as a video game?
Course depends on the person, but they are human beings aware of the consequences of their actions, and the more sensitive might be MORE aware
I think the day is coming when another nations drones are over NY,LA,and Chicago and we may be forced to consider all the implications of these weapons

that's kind of what I think. I think the fact that they are basically playing a high stakes video game, might dull them to the fact that they are really taking lives. Eventually yes. Nations rise and fall and the victor becomes the vanquished, The oppressor becomes the oppressed and the wheel turns round.

Why would they sleep better? Probably about the same. Remote control, or up close and personnal, what's the difference? If your a no good dirtbag, and it's time for you to go, you've got to go. If by chance I'm the one helping you meet GOD, I've got no problem with that, if it's one of my buddies, that's good to.

Realistically, no matter how just the cause, in the mind of your average person there is going to be some kind of struggle over the matter of taking lives, especially 'collateral' damage. I'm wondering if the air conditioned trailers far from the battle field tend to dull those feelings.
