Recently a pal o mine living in a foreign country was convicted of theft & had his arms chopped off. Now the only thing he can steal is doughnuts.

First they should break the donuts in half so he couldn't steal them THEN we should put all the corrupt bankers in with petty robbers. Not because the crimes were equal but robbers do nasty things to other inmates!

Not necessarily. I think intent is a very important factor to include. If a young man were driving his friends around and got in a bad accident where lives were lost due to a lapse, one would have to consider the fact that we ALL have had lapses in our driving skills from time to time and if the driver were very sorry and there were no drugs and alcohol involved, how far do you punish someone that is probably punishing themselves every day for the rest of their lives?
