definitely. without experiences in life (even bad ones) things get truly dull and depressing. Sure it hurts sometimes to hava a bad experience but we grow and learn from it and move forward to bigger and better ones.

It may be true but, it doesn't help to hear it when you are broken-hearted.

No, it's not true, though I appreciate Tennyson's sentiment. Scientists have demonstrated that people who have been single all their life are happier, healthier, and live longer than people who marry and become widowed or divorced.

if I had the choice to go back and erase time with my late husband (so as not to hurt and miss him so much)

I would NOT. The good is worth suffering the bad.

Everytime my heart gets broken, I wish I hadn't bothered caring at all. But then again, it was good while it lasted so I guess I am glad for the experience.

Absolutely. This is what life is about. There is nothing permanent, even life itself is going to end. How can you refuse Love, because of fear that it will end? Would you refuse Life, if you know that it will end?
Love is the best gift of all - it is a blessing to experience it, even if just for one moment.

yes, because when love is good it's really good. I would take a chance on the good part. I have to figure out why it goes bad. I couldn't help my divorse i was physically abused more than once. Catholic or not you just can't fix it.

I'm going to have to read the "scientists" reports before I can believe any of what LSD just said up there.

I'm starting to think it's very, very true...

Of course it is better to have loved and lossed then never to have loved. i have not been in a relationship for years but if a women came along and we hit it off I would be right back into the mix with no regrets but the longer it goes the more picky I am and i am not willing to give up some of the things that I like to do. My son is 33 and he has not been in interested in women since he was 16 but it is hard to meet women when you in the basement of your house playing on your computer. He is affraid of rejection again after the last girl he was interested in already had a boy friend. YES GO FOR IT
