Not at all. Terrorism was an excuse for us to exploit their oil fields.

Watch the Zeitgeist movie.

I think we are often looking at the war in the short term where we may or may not see the overall picture. Further down the road it may become more clear on if the war was or wasn't more justified.

I will say that I for many reasons I won't share here think that it is. The one reason I will share is I believe that despite the headlines, the people of Iraq are better off without Sadam.

This is a question that can ultimately only be answered by the people of Iraq.
And at least 250,000 of them are no longer able to do so.

No...and don't call me a d@mn commie because I don't want our young people dying for an unjust war. We have an aging population and we have not taken care of them...

No. Even when they claimed there were WMD I thought it was a dumb idea. And I voted Republican up until this last election! 19 people attacked the US and we decide to overthrow two whole countries? No logic can justify that for me.

All we did was put coalition troops in more accessible places for Al Qaida to terrorize. Bush/Cheney's claims that there have been no terrorist attacks on US soil makes sense to me not because the "war on so-called terror" was working, but because we made such fabulous targets of ourselves in Afghanistan and Iraq.

But we are there now -- so we clean up our mess, take care of and support our troops, and get the hell outta there as soon as it is reasonable and responsible to do so.

No. It was not. And to think that at least 'the Iraqi people are better off without Hussein' is the ultimate selfish declaration of arrogance in America.

Who the hell do we think we are to invade a country and act as police in the world? There are plenty of dictators in the world and we would raise a finger to waste any money on them. Darfur? Even China. Where are the balls to stand up against China and their obvious cruel regime?

'The Iraqui people should be grateful to us' makes me vomit. This is meant to make us feel better but can hardly be proved right by us here living in our comfortable country far away from their reality and watching news made by American.

I think we got our answer already when we were thrown the shoe. And then there is the people that love to point out the fact that they should be glad that now at least they have the freedom to protest at us and find outrageous that they do not show gratitude. Yeah, we gave them freedom alright, in the process we destroyed their country, killed their brothers, orphaned their children all of that without being asked to be there in the first place. And we still want a warm fuzzy hug from them.

Absolutely not. And Obama is not doing a good job, he hasn't pulled one soldier out of Iraq and he's been in office for over 100 days. Sometimes I wonder what happened to America.

No and I don't believe we need troops in 130 countries either.

Better off without Saddam??? have you seen the conditions there??? Saddam was no good but the country was better when he was alive... the Iraqi people paid a huge price bec the U.S thought "Saddam was no good for Iraq" I absolutley don't think that that was the motive behind the war

It's done and over with . The exits is just as important as the entrance . Everyone know the entrance was a mistake . Obama is not going make the same rash mistake on the exit . He even correct the position he has made mistake on in recent times . He a man that listens and hears ,before making decisions .
I'm well please that he is where he is .

No. On a side note: for all you folks who think we went there for their oil, think about this: we probably could have bought every damned oilfield in Iraq, from Saddam, for less than we have spent on this war.

Nope. I do not. I understand why people think it is however. I realize that what happened on 9-11 was dreadful and outrageous and I understand the desire to retalliate. But the war in Iraq and the election of Obama is about more than oil, revenge, black, white and bla bla bla...it's about what's coming. And if ya don't know what's coming...read up on the WWO. Read hard. Research it. If you do, you won't wonder about the reason for the war anymore.

not really... it's not even like we "won". either take over the country, or kill everyone. but enough with this pseudo-occupation. if we want oil, we should take the oil. really, we've just been wasting time. it's disgusting.

I do and I have children that were there from the beginning and then went to Afghanistan. If people think Iraqs people were better of before, ask them. If the soldiers didn't think it was the right thing to do why do a lot of them sign up to go back several times.

maybe there are many that aren't around anymore but how many would not be around if Saddam was still alive. How many children would have been raped and killed by his sons. There aren't any mass graves anymore that were from the ruling party. Women are no longer just a belonging to men.

Definitely not. GWB & the administration lied to the US citizens & to the world saying that there were WMDs when they knew damn well there were none. The war has been a waste of money, resources and life.
