Yes. I think the world has an overload of information, but information does not equal intelligence. People have become more and more dependent on computers to store information for them. As a result, people are allowing their minds to become weaker and weaker. They are giving up the ability to think for themselves. Therefore, I believe truly intellectual people are an endangered species.
I think there are more intellectuals now then ever before. Information is plentiful and does not require admittance to a college to acquire. Simple internet access is a wonderful provider.
My existence says no.
This is probably The Best Question I've seen on EP since I joined. I'm being Completely Honest.
The pleasure is all mine believe me when a person your age ponders a question like this it speaks volumes.
It lacks the yearning for wisdom.

No. Books, information, and education are available to more people than ever before. It wasn't always this way.
yes. THEY SHOULD GET BACK TOO WORK AND QUIT YAKCING!!!
The world is FULL of intelligent people. Unfortunately, most traded their intelligence for a cable subsc<x>ription. <br />
maybe - but it definitely lacks emotionally intelligent intellectuals
I don't think there is a lack of intellectual people in the world, but perhaps there is a lack of appreciation of the ones we have....
Endangered species, but yet not protected lol
No. We just need to use it the right way.
