Life is one big canvas and we should throw as much paint on it as we can. And to eat Belgian chocolate!
If you are searching for your purpose pray about it, what dreams has God put on your heart?
I believe the ultimate plot to life is because of the fight between God and Satan, almost like a game, even though I know without a doubt God will win, he is indulging Satan's "I'm just as powerful as God" and "Who made him God" attitude.I believe we are here to make a choice; Heaven or Hell? I choose Eternal life over the torture of Hell.

I like to think I make my own path.
Here,you have 2 choices.

a) Follow the 'standard life plot'. I guess this is drilled into most people, it's what some aspire to and some shy away from. It's the obvious, go to school, go to university, find a reasonable job, find a husband/wife, make enough money to get by, squeeze out some kids, get old, have a big family and carry on like many others have done.

b) Screw all that, do whatever you want, change history, have no friends, be famous, be a scientist, travel your whole life, never settle down, live in the same place, dress weird, take risks, do whatever you want. Yeah.

So that's what I think. obviously there's more than just 2 choices, but in bare essence, you can follow the mold or you can break it.

To improve ourselves, to help each other and to leave the world a little bit better place than when we arrived.

There is no plot, we're a minor mistake in the universe.

When my father died I really began to wonder what was the purpose of life. I am not sure about a plot but this I do know- the purpose of life is life! To live, to make new life, just to perpetuate life. Everything else is gravy. We continue to live even as we die. Our children continue life just as we did for our parents and their parents. The human race survives as new life takes the place of old life.

Yes but the plot you are going to follow depends on you. I dont think it has been pre-engraved into you. I think the plot of life is the dream on which you build it on. The only problem with this is that people will choose to follow the dreams of other blindly. They have instilled what they wish for you to become and therefor do let let you find your dream. You discover your own plot and make it your own. The plot of life and purpose of life are different

I agree with knownow completely. When my father died, I went through this weird phase..What is life about? What really happens when we die? What if there is no heaven and it's all just black? What if everything I ever thought and believed was a lie???? I was scared out of my mind for months! The fear of death was the only fear I have ever had, and when he died, it was magnified times a thousand. As for a plot, I believe that God has a plan for each of us and we are predetermined at birth. It sounds crazy, but I think we all have a purpose and a reason for being here, and I think it manifest itself over time. I think God makes everyone for his own reason, and his own reason alone, and that sooner or later, everyone knows how their life was meant to be lived.

The plot to life is found in the story of the Prodigal Son. Each of us have left the loving embrace of a being who loves us unconditionally and infinitely. We've instead chosen to go off to a distant land full of false happiness and debase ourselves to the things that pass away so quickly.

God calls us back all the time so that we can rest in eternity with Him, but he won't force us. He even became man to show how much he loved us and showed us HOW to get back to Him. Jesus Christ is this way and the route to a full life.

Thus the purpose of this life is to deepen our relationship with God by becoming once more his sons and daughters by joining ourself to Christ, His Divine Son, in His Mystical Body - the Universal/Catholic Church.

At our deaths, God looks at our life to see what decision we made - did we choose a life with a relationship with God? If we did he grants our request and we experience Him fully for ever - this is called Heaven. If our lives show that we chose something other than God, then God will respect this decision and He will not be a part of our lives - this is what is called Hell. As God is the source of life, light and self-giving love, Hell is therefore a place without fullness of life, dark and full of selfishness.
