sure... you know the persons personality and their strengths and weaknesses cuz you have similar qualities in yourself.
You recognize when someone may be trying to fool you, cuz you probably pulled the same thing yourself!
That's why parents aren't fooled by their kids, been there, done that so you can't fool me!!!

the FBI thinks so. They connect with ex cons to help understand serial crimes,counterfeit experts..etc. It does take one to know one BETTER.

yes, there is some truth, but I think that you can also recognize something that you had once been (but aren't anymore), or something that you've had a lot of experience with too.

Yes, you can easily recognise similar traits in others if you already have them. Making it easier to understand their motives.
