I believe that after a while a relationship can grow too "comfortable" and we tend to get bored and miss the excitement and passion. That's no excuse for being unfaithful, though. <br />

Best explanation I heard was love has a half life of 5-7 years so after that time you love each other half as much. After 10-14 it's down to a quarter. Only the couple involved know if that's enough.
