Do you wear glasses/contacts? If so, which do you prefer and why?

I wear glasses when I need to. I am nearsighted so when I drive or go to a movie theater or sit in the back of the classroom I need to wear them.
I will never use contacts because I do not want anything in my eyes. I have very sensitive eyes, and I could never ever put contacts in them. I don't know how people are able to poke themselves in the eye. *shudder*

I also like the way glasses look on most people. Wire frames work for most faces.

mzkaylz	Posted Apr 17th, 2009 at 7:12AM I wear contacts because i am short sighted. I like contacts better than glasses. Glasses make me feel dizzy because outside of the frame everything is so blurry & i have to move my head to see. Where as with contacts, i don't even know i have them in. I sleep with them in, so i wake up and everythings clear :D But.. I miss wearing glasses for a fashion statement. Lol sometimes it's good to spruce up your outfit with some specks! I like contacts a little more, because they don't fog up or get dirty and cloud my vision. Glasses also give me a different look, which I only identify with some of the time. Rated: +1Vote for this!

PurpleQueen	Posted Apr 17th, 2009 at 7:57AM I wear glasses, I'm shortsighted. I can't use contact lenses: better said, I'm not able to put them in. I have trouble even in putting eye drops in! The problem is, my eyes close even if I don't want to, whenever I try. And the mere sight of someone putting in lenses, gives me the shivers. I guess I have to overcome this phobia, but anyway, I can keep up with my glasses for now. Rated: +1Vote for this!

AndrewPenney	Posted Apr 17th, 2009 at 9:48AM This is a question I'm having trouble answering for myself. In this hot humid climate, I prefer contacts. It makes so much sense: No hot frames on the face, and the humidity makes the lenses very comfortable. But now I need reading glasses with my contacts, aaarghhhh! So I wear both! However, I don't need reading glasses with normal spectacles yet, so if I'm writing into the night, I'll remove the contacts and switch to frames. Bummer. Fortunately, I'm not that blind (3.25/2.50). lastleafoffall	Posted Apr 17th, 2009 at 10:00AM I wear glasses, because back when I first had my eyes checked there weren't really any contacts for astigmatism. They DO have torics now, but I'm quite fond of my spectacles and think I look somewhat funny without them. I haven't seen any, but if they ever come out with colored/sfx torics.....I'm all over 'em.
