Does any one know if an online course for Medical Assistant is any good?

I would like to take a course online since my baby is so small still, I have worked as roughly the same thing but with animals for the last 12 years. I don't want to waste my time if it will get me nowhere. Anyone know? All I really need is a foot in the door, I am smart enough to prove my worth after.

Nope! There's too much hands-on experience that you need to get that an online course will not offer.

I would say look in your local areas for a nursing home, if you want to get into the medical field. Look for a nursing home that will provide CNA training. Your CNA is going to be your foot in the door - because a lot of companies will help pay for college, etc if you wish to further your medical career!

I work as a CNA in a nursing home and it's the most fulfilling job I've ever had! The pay's not bad, you don't get a set schedule, but you do get set hours! CNA first - the rest later!
